We Are Home of Hope Youth Chapter

 

IN MAY 2010, THE HOME OF HOPE YOUTH CHAPTER WAS FOUNDED BY ANISHA SOMANI, ROSHAN ROY, AND KIREN SINGH. THIS CHAPTER WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROMOTE AND EXPAND HOME OF HOPES MISSION: TO HELP ORPHANED, ABANDONED, MENTALLY/PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED, OR OTHERWISE UNDERSERVED CHILDREN BECOME SELF-SUSTAINING, PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF SOCIETY. THE MOTTO OF THE YOUTH CHAPTER IS "KIDS HELPING KIDS." ITS MEMBERS ARE COMPRISED OF MORE THAN 90 OUTSTANDING, DEDICATED INDIVIDUALS FROM THE AGES OF 12-25. THE STUDENTS BELONG TO MORE THAN 20 DIFFERENT SCHOOLS ACROSS THE BAY AREA. THROUGH VARIOUS ACTIVITIES, THE YOUTH CHAPTER HELPS TO RAISE MONEY FOR BOTH LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS. ITS MAIN GOAL IS TO FURTHER THE EDUCATION OF UNDERPRIVILEGED CHILDREN.

THE MOTTO FOR HOH’S YOUTH CHAPTER, FORMED IN 2010, IS “KIDS HELPING KIDS”. WITH A TEAM OF 40+ MEMBERS FROM IN AND AROUND THE EAST BAY, THEY HAVE PROVIDED HOH WITH AN IMMENSE AMOUNT OF SUPPORT. THEY VOLUNTEER AT ANNUAL EVENTS, ARE A HUGE PART OF E2E EFFORTS, AND HAVE THEIR OWN UNIQUE PROGRAMS, INCLUDING THE PENNY DRIVE AND CRAFTS OF HOPE. THROUGH VARIOUS ACTIVITIES, THE YOUTH CHAPTER HELPS TO RAISE MONEY FOR OUR PROJECTS.

THE ENGLISH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM WAS FIRST FOUNDED BY TANYA SHAH AND GANISHA SETHI A FEW YEARS BACK. THE GOAL OF EEP IS TO ENSURE THAT UNDERPRIVILEGED AND OR DESTITUTE KIDS ARE ALLOWED THE OPPORTUNITY TO THRIVE IN THE THRESHOLD OF EDUCATION THROUGH FURTHERING THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE. VOLUNTEER'S CAN GO TO INDIA TO TEACH ENGLISH AT KOSHISH.

SEC IS A PROGRAM THAT WORKS TOWARDS HELPING THE HANDICAPPED AND THE CRIPPLED. SINCE THEY HAVE SPECIAL NEEDS THAT PERTAIN TO EACH PERSON INDIVIDUALLY, IT'S VITAL THAT WE KEEP IN CLOSE CONTACT WITH ALL OF THEM. SEC IS CURRENTLY WORKING TO RAISE FUNDS SO WE CAN SEND MONEY TO COVER FOR THE NUTRITION AND FOOD FOR THESE CHILDREN
